19,582 Valtra tractors produced last year
03.03.2005Last year was the first for Valtra as a part of AGCO Corporation. It was successful, as a record number of Valtra tractors were produced in 2004: altogether 19,582. Production was split between Brazil (9816 tractors) and Finland (9766).
Valtra was also the biggest selling tractor brand in the Nordic countries; the market share in 2004 was 30.4%. Valtra was second most popular brand in Latin America.
Valtra has brought a new dimension to AGCO’s brand portfolio, customer closeness, which is born from Valtra’s customer-based service concept and customer order system. Valtra is an innovator within the tractor industry in production based on customer orders and its direct sales concept.
It is no coincidence that Valtra was awarded in 2004 the Tractor of the Year design award in Europe for already the second time. Scandinavian design aims at clean and calm forms that are functional. Valtra has also distinguished itself from other tractor manufacturers since 1988 by allowing customers to choose from a number of colour options. This is a concrete part of Valtra’s philosophy to meet the individual needs of the customer.
Similarly, Valtra do Brasil was awarded the Master Cana award for the fourth year in a row. The award is granted annually by the country’s sugar cane producers and the sugar industry. In fact, Valtra was awarded two prizes: The Best Tractor, and The Best After Sales Service. In the category of big tractors (over 160 horsepower), Valtra has a 70 percent market share in sugar cane production in Brazil, which demonstrates Valtra’s performance in extremely demanding conditions, as well as the success of Valtra’s after sales service concept.
